This piece was inspired by the concept art of Thomas Fluharty. It was also an exercise in using a basemesh from a scan -- a free one from 3Dscanstore. I had tried one of the not-free ones and found it clumsy to work with such a heavy mesh. The lowest subdivision level is still quite high. But when they work, and you can use the textures or fine details, they do save time. Anyway, I thought I'd give it another try. I also hadn't use Substance Painter for characters. I had been using Mari for that, with xyz texture maps. So Pee Wee was new territory for me!
